Although we went to the same elementary school and middle school, it took until high school for us to become friends. We still reminisce about our memories from high school (bonfires on the beach, ski trips up north) and laugh about how our journeys were intertwined from the beginning!

THE PROPOSAL:

During our high school days and continuing into college, we regularly went for walks on Craigville Beach together. We always made a point to walk to the jetty at the end of the beach and to walk all the way to the end of the jetty. On November 28, 2015, what seemed like a typical walk on the beach turned into the best walk of our lives...

It was projected to rain that morning, but we said hey, what the heck, let's try to get in a walk. The day could not have been more perfect as the water was flat calm and there wasn't a drop of rain in sight. The sun was peeking out from just beyond the jetty.

We walked to the end of the jetty like we always do and took in the beauty for a moment like we always do. We talked about how a year ago at that time John was home on leave for the Air Force and how grateful we were that he was home for good this time. I wrapped it up with "no leave, just love" and turned around to head back.

As I turned around, John grabbed my hand and said, "How about forever?" The next thing I knew he was down on one knee saying the sweetest, most romantic, most perfect words with a ring in his hand and asking me to be his wife. Needless to say... I said yes!

Little did I know, John's brother, Andrew, photographed the whole event from afar (see photo above). We were greeted by our families when we returned to John's house and celebrated with champagne with those we love.

We can't express how excited we are for all of you to share in our special day with us. Thank you for your love and support on our journey together!
