Shopping

Rice Village

This is an outdoor shopping center that stretches out for a few blocks. There are lots of well known stores, some cute boutiques, coffee shops, lots of delicious food and dessert, fun bars, and much more!! Some of our top recommendations for food are located here too!

Galleria

The Galleria is any shoppers dreamland, you can find all of your favorite stores at all ranges of price here! What we like about the Galleria is the food options in the area (of course), and the skating rink! Let it be known that Sarah keeps up very well with the Yankee on ice!

Outlets

There are two great outlet mall locations near Houston, one is in Texas City (on the way to Galveston), and the other is in Cypress (on the way to Austin). Sarah loves shopping and finding great deals, so she highly recommends both for the smart shopper in the family!

19th Street in Houston Heights

There are so many great boutiques and antique stores on 19th Street between Yale and Ashland! Sarah’s favorite little Mexican goods store, Casa Ramirez, is located here. Grab some good food and then walk it off browsing these awesome, unique stores!

Cavender's:

Buy some cowboy boots and a hat!

Bars / Nightlife

East Downtown

-Group of fun bars near downtown and the stadiums

-*Truckyard, 8th Wonder, True Anomaly

Main Street/Downtown

- We love going to Pastry War (try the strawberry balsamic margarita), Deans, Little Dipper; ask Sarah and Leo about a couple speakeasy places in the Main Street area!

- *Pete's Piano Bar is a super fun place where everyone gets into singing and the audience gets up close and personal with performers. R-rated humor. Recommend making reservations!

- Our absolute favorite place ever, *Saint Arnold's Brewery will give you life.

Heights:

-Some of our favorites are Cedar Creek, Height's Bier Garten, Better Luck Tomorrow, *Karbach Brewery, and King's Bierhaus

Midtown/Montrose:

-Anvil, Stone's Throw, Little Woodrow's

Clear Lake / Kemah:

- Saloon Door Brewery

- Barge 295 (floating bar on the lake)

- Voodoo Hut (gets clubby at night)
