Liana and Brandon matched on the dating app Bumble in late December of 2018 while Liana was home from college on winter break. Liana was forced to make the first move to keep the match by sending a simple message: "omgggg your dog! 🥰" Brandon responded, "Yeah she's a cutie!". When Liana didn't answer after multiple hours Brandon, being persistent, reached out again; "I'll give you a reason for your family to stop asking why you're still single 😉". From that simple double text, they set up their first date a few days later, where the real story began!

Their first date was December 30, 2018, when they met at noon at Fegley's Brew Works in Bethlehem. (This is an important detail).

As soon as Liana stepped out of her car, Brandon knew he was in for it. Approximately 5 minutes into sitting down in the booth, Brandon started calling Liana out for 'rolling her eyes'. When they realized the downstairs Steel Garden didn't open until 4 pm where they had originally planned to go to shoot some pool, they both decided to kill some time until it opened up. Brandon told Liana he had never been to The Christmas Tree Shops, so they decided to go to Ross and The Christmas Tree Shops to smell candles and window shop. After that, they decided to see Fantastic Beasts at the AMC. During the movie, Liana had her hand perfectly positioned for him to hold it, but Brandon refused because he was nervous and sweaty.

After the movie ended around 7 pm they finally decided to go back to Brew Works to play some pool. They proceeded to play pool, have a few glasses of wine, and talk until 12 am while not having a single bite of food all day long. When love is right, hunger doesn't even matter!

Extra little detail: Liana's mom sent multiple (about 25) text messages (and 10 missed calls) asking where she was and got upset because it had been 12 hours without hearing anything. Needless to say, she got in a bit of trouble the next day.

From then on, the rest is history!

Liana had been sending Brandon engagement ring ideas (multiple times, daily and across multiple platforms) for several months and casually bringing it up in every conversation, thinking she was dropping subtle hints for him. Brandon played along like he was brushing it off for many months, but was actually designing Liana's perfect ring for her and planning the proposal in secret since Liana is VERY hard to surprise with how nosey she is. Brandon went and asked Liana's Mom and Dad, Tina and Rafael, to marry their daughter while working with her family to plan the perfect proposal.

On December 24th, 2022 during a family Christmas Eve party, everyone was given a present that had a Christmas ornament in it. Brandon had made a special ornament with a picture of Liana and him on it, and on the back, it said: "Liana Marte, Will you Marry me?". Brandon was down on one knee and had the ring in his hand and Liana broke down in tears and replied "Yes!"
