We know, we know - semi-formal is ambiguous! This dress code is less formal than cocktail attire and more subdued and understated. It's often worn for afternoon weddings and can include a broader range of options for women, such as dresses, pantsuits, or dressy separates. For both men and women, solid, darker colors and subtle patterns are safe bets. From The Knot: “For suiting, dress shirts and ties aren't required, nor are matching suit pieces. You can mix and match suit separates, work a sweater into the outfit (a great option for fall or winter weddings), or leave your tie at home. For those wearing dresses, something in a midi-length is perfect, though you're also welcome to experiment with jumpsuits, rompers, and separates” Our intent is for our friends and family to have fun with their attire and wear something they feel amazing in!

Unfortunately, Ubers/ride shares to the venue will be difficult to get because The Garden Cottage is outside of the Richmond Metro Area. Also, cell service is very limited out in Maidens (sorry guys). We will be providing a shuttle bus for those staying at the Hilton Garden Inn that leaves at 4 PM and with return shuttles at 9PM/10PM/11PM. For those of you who are not staying at the hotel, we recommend carpooling (and having a DD). Parking will be in the field next door with signage directing you where to go!

Your guess is as good as ours! Classically, in this area of Virginia in October temperatures range from highs in the mid 70s to lows in the upper 40s.

We love The Veil - but parking is terrible. If you are driving to the welcome dinner and can’t find parking in the lot you can park in the DaVita parking lot next door or the Walgreens parking lot.
