Our Story

Ross and Madi first met at a birthday party years ago (Madi 16, Ross 17), exchanging names and a goodbye was all that took place that day. As time moved on Madi and Ross both found themselves at Texas A&M. On a night out and about with each others friends, I saw Madi across the room (And boy did she look good) and went up to speak to her hoping she remembered me after all the years. A brief conversation that night would be the start to what we are celebrating today.

I thought it would be a great idea to take Madi on a first date to the Franklin Safari after realizing how much she loved animals (Thanks for the help Remi). Now what I failed to mention to Madi was that I had class that afternoon and would be in a hurry to get home. After lots of laughter while feeding and petting animals, the date still had some road bumps that we laugh at to this day. Lets just say that after running over an ostrich and getting a speeding ticket on the way home, I was hoping date 2 would go smoother.

After more dates, laughs and memories that we shared, we started dating April 12,2021. It wouldn't be soon after this that we started our long-distance journey with Madi finishing up school and me moving to Dallas for work. Although 3 hours between us was not fun, we made time for each other and ultimately made it work. It was at this time where we got to know each other best through phone calls and weekend visits to one another for several months.

Life moved at us fast, with Madis college graduation and landing a job in the Dallas area, we were back together in the same city and got to put an end to long distance. We got to explore the city together, walk lots of nature trails and dog parks (because Remi was still her favorite boy) but excitedly got to a point where we could do life together once again.

Knowing I had everything I wanted in a life partner I took the next step of getting a ring. Madis great uncle was the guy for the occasion, having made a unique wedding band for Keri and Madi using pieces from Madi's great grandmother, the design was used in the ring itself. Having a diamond from my grandparents, and the design from the unique wedding band the ring symbolized 2 coming into 1. After a few phone calls and discussions deciding on what the ring would look like I came to the final step of picking it up. After lieing to Madi about where I was going and almost getting caught in the process, I had secured the ring. The ring would then make its next appearance on a Gann family vacation. With a walk down the beach and a scene setup upon our return, I hit a knee, Madi gave the yes and we had our family cheering us on from above. This is where the couple became fiancés, September 8, 2023.

On January 7th, 2024, our family grew earlier than expected. Don't worry she's got 4 legs, her name is Bentley! Did we get you?
