Kait and Mani have been friends since freshman year at UMass
but their story didn't start with the sunshine that surrounds them now. Mani thought Kait's upbeat nature and excitable mannerisms were too much to handle, while Kait thought Mani was a b - oops. This quickly changed and now they're the classic yin & yang. Kait's first to spit something true, drop it low, and give a hell of a toast, but she's also one of the most caring, sweetest people you could ever meet. If you see her on the dancefloor you better cheers this girl.
Madi Cruz - Bridesmaid
Madi & Mani came into each other's lives in 2010, gaining the sisters neither of them had ever had. What started as the typical 13-year-age gap between them (babysitting, dress-up, and bugging each other a lil) has turned into a friendship, as well as a sisterhood. Madi keeps Mani up to date on the Gen-Z lingo and they still give each other all the tea. Madi's been promising to return the favor, babysitting Mani's future kids, but for now we'll start slow and have them walk the aisle together first.
Laura Diamond - Bridesmaid
Laura & Mani have also known each other since that fateful year of 2012 at UMass. Bonding with each other over shared music taste, always being the first to go out and the last to turn it down, as well as more niche shared interests... such as needing to research every movie/show/song that crossed their path. To this day the two can share a look and know if something is a yes or no for them and will belt out an oldie at the top of their lungs. Guarantee if there's a song you need to know, give Laura a beat and she'll hunt it down. Sorry though...no requests for the DJ!
Lily Borisov - Bridesmaid
The best thing about Justice Just 4 Girls is that it brought Lily and Mani together...and no one but them will admit it but also the college friend group. Lily and Mani realized that they were kindred spirits in their senior year but their plans to party together didn't really come to fruition until they got to UMass. From Mani and Lily came Laura, Kait, the boys...trace it back, it tracks! Lily is THE hype girl everyone would be lucky to have in their lives. If you're getting yelled at to dance or take a drink, just do yourself a favor and do it.
Rachel MacKenzie - Bridesmaid
Rachel and Mani have seen each other through truly EVERY stage of life. They met in 7th grade (because life starts then) and have since witnessed countless Warped Tours, parties, weird nights, and embarrassing things together. Rachel is the most fun and lovey person, she could get the most uptight and boring person to come out of their shell. If you see her, hug her and maybe, just maybe, do a shot together.
Sarah Prouty - Bridesmaid
Sarah and Mani met in detention back in 2007, where they found that there were other people in Sutton that liked alternative music - what?! That same week they went to what would be Mani's first concert, My Chemical Romance at the DCU center. Since then, they've been through scene stages, meeting boys from Myspace at the Millbury mall, long-distance friendship, and Sarah's own wedding. Sarah is loyal, she is real, she will probably make fun of you if you do something lame. So be cool!
Chas Gurney - Best Brother
Tyler’s known Chas for quite some time now, almost all of Chas’s life in fact! Most of their childhood was filled with: video games, sports, Tyler crying because Chas was always better at both of those things, Tyler getting beat up by Chas and his friends, and MANY trips to the ER. In one odd twist of fate, Tyler and Chas actually had broken legs at the same time (one was from a soccer injury the other was from a trampoline incident). I think there’s even a photo floating around of them going to pick out a Christmas tree sporting two pairs of crutches! The two parted ways as roommates in the early 2000s when Chas decided to move to Florida, where he still resides. And although Tyler was sad to see his older bro go, he finally had a bedroom to himself. They’ve remained buddies ever since and Tyler couldn’t think of anyone else who he’d rather have as “Best Brother” at his wedding. Love you bro!
Nick Prunier - Groomsman
Tyler and Nicky P. have been best friends since pee wee soccer (go Ax-men) circa 1996. The two would go on to be teammates in high school and formed a formidable duo on the pitch. Their game plan was simple - let Nick dribble through 6 defenders and send in a perfect pass to Tyler who was sprinting as fast as possible and then (occasionally) put a shot on net. Tyler thanks Nick for single handedly assisting on 98% of his career goals. Off the pitch, Tyler and Nick remained best of friends all through high school, and college; rarely did a day go by when they weren’t hanging out, playing video games above Nick’s garage, throwing parties above Nick’s garage (sorry Mrs. P), and having the time of their lives. Despite Nick’s many moves to NY and back, and now Florida (do I move to Florida at this point?) the two remain inseparable whenever they’re together. Tyler thanks Nick for always making him laugh and being one of the kindest people he knows, even when he’s being an asshole. Never change Nick!
Tony Bulak - Groomsman
Next up is the one and only Tony Bulak. Or as Chuck Gurney would say, “Tony Boo-Boo Bulak”. I’ll save Tony the embarrassment of how he got that nickname from storming off of the court at a town basketball game because he didn’t get JJ Murphy on his team. Oh wait…
Anyway, Tony and Tyler became friends during the early years of middle school band, where Tyler was able to convince Tony to switch from trumpet to percussion. You’re welcome for that.
From there, their friendship blossomed throughout high school and, along with Nick P., they spent 99% of their time together, both in school and out of. When it came time to choose where to go for college, the two decided since they didn’t have the academic scores or athletic ability to follow Nick Prunier to Boston University, it would be a good idea to stick together. Unfortunately, for one reason or another, Tony went to Lowell and Tyler met Trav and Rob in Amherst. Finally, after one miserable year in prison, I mean at UMass Lowell, Tony came to his senses and joined Tyler at the real UMass and the rest is history. Tyler appreciates Tony’s willingness to stick by his side through each phase of life - from band dorks to college degenerates. Thank you for the memories and cheers to more to come!
Travis Brisbois - Groomsman
Travis Brisbois, aka Trav, and Tyler knew they would be best friends when they both realized that they didn’t actually enjoy doing the “Track” part of “Track and Field” and would rather stand around and throw heavy objects far distances… ok maybe “far” is a stretch. Nonetheless their friendship carried over into college where they spent four years at UMass playing video games, drinking copious amounts of Busch light, and locking down receivers in flag football. The two would eventually go on the be roommates and dubbed themselves “The Nuthouse” (don’t ask) where they shared a 12x10 room with a curtain separating their beds. Trav had so much fun living with Tyler that he decided it would be a good idea to stay in the Nuthouse after he graduated, while he completed his MBA and worked a full time job. How Trav was able to continue the college life style, while getting straight A’s and working a 9-5 is beyond comprehension. But if you knew Trav, it wouldn’t surprise you.
Since their time in college, the Nuthouse has added a few more members - Trav’s little ones- Wyatt and Maverick, who will most definitely carry on their father’s savage legacy. Thank you Trav for being a great roommate and a better friend. Nuthouse for life!
Rob Bardier - Groomsman
Speaking of savages - next up we have Mr. Robert Bardier. Tyler met Rob through Tony his junior year of high school where they bonded over their sweaty hands and their intentions to go to ZooMass Amherst. Even though Rob’s intense humor was intimidating at first, Tyler knew he and Rob would be great friends for many years to come. Over the next 8 or so years they spent many an evening drinking beers (a common theme I know), playing video games, and talking about chicks but never actually doing anything about it. Tyler’s fondest memories with Rob are hanging out at Rob’s parents house, their many ice fishing trips in Maine, and countless Sylvan and Alpine 5 moments at UMass. We will save those reading this from the gory UMass details, but let’s just say Tyler has seen Rob naked more times than he’d like. To this day, Tyler is shocked and thankful that Rob eventually found someone to put up with his behavior and even agreed to procreate with him. Can you believe it!? God Bless you Jodi.
In all seriousness, Rob is a ride or die homie that will hilariously degrade you one moment and give you a hug the next. Thank you Rob for the many laughs, good times, and your unwavering friendship!
Nick Christy - Groomsman
Last, but certainly not least, is Nick Christy. Nick is Tyler’s newest friend of the bunch but has certainly had as much of an impact as the rest.
A little backstory for those who don’t know- Nick is also from Douglas and has been best friends with Trav since they were neighbors during childhood. Tyler and Nick were acquaintances through middle and high school but never intermingled because they were apart of different friend groups…That is until one fine evening when Nick came to visit Trav at UMass and Tyler just happened to be there as well.
You could tell Nick had no idea what he was getting himself into because he decided to bring a handle of Jose Cuervo as his weekend drink of choice. A bold strategy indeed. That night ended with nick soiling on his pants (on, not in, there’s a difference) and Tyler knew that Nick was the last piece of his friendship puzzle. Over the next few years Nick remained a weekend UMass warrior and a consistent companion. After college, when it was time to move out on their own, Tyler and Nick decided to move in together, smack dab in the middle of the ghetto of Worcester along with Nick’s brother Evan (pictured on the right). Their roommate dynamic was perfect: Nick would grocery shop and cook, Tyler would clean, and Evan was in charge of trash. Over the next two years, Endicott street would be the foundation of Tyler and Nick’s friendship, and, as luck would have it, was also the origin story of Tyler and Mani (read ""Our Story" to find out more). Tyler is not one to believe in fate, but meeting Nick is as close as it gets for him. Without Nick, there would be no Mani and Tyler, and for that, we are forever grateful.
Thank you Nick for your delicious meals, your blessing to date your cousin, and most importantly your lifelong friendship! Technically I think we are cousins in-law now. Weird.
