Growing up, they were known as "Meagan B." and "Meighan G." or the classic "my Meighan" and "your Meagan," a duo that's caused more mischief than they're willing to confess. Meighan has been Meagan's partner in crime since their kindergarten days at Ecole Grandin; where they perfected the fine art of fighting with each other while simultaneously having each other's backs. Exhibit A: Grade 1, when they fought over who should get to return a basketball after recess. Said basketball ended up knocking out Meighan's tooth. Don't worry, it was already loose when she lost it. Since they could not find the tooth, Meagan stepped up and helped Meighan write a convincing letter to the tooth fairy explaining the situation. Whether it was filling hot tubs with way too much bubble bath, playing Super Mario in the "blue room", stealing Meighan's older cousin's beef and cheese burritos after school while watching Much Music, or forcing their parents to listen to their "band" (yes said band had real instruments, and no they could not play them), there has seriously never been a dull moment between these two. Joined at the hip from day one, they've cheered each other on through every milestone. As adults, they've turned their teasing towards each others significant others and love to give them unending laughs and headaches. Let's just say, if there were a prize for troublemaking, these two would win it hands down - no questions asked! Love you Meighan!

Eric is Nigel's older brother and has worn many hats throughout their relationship. Eric first started as a personal trainer, teaching Nigel - often by demonstration - the art of self-defense and showmanship by performing the signature moves of top athletes like Bret "The Hitman" Hart, Razor Ramon, and The Undertaker in the wrestling ring (aka the basement mattress). Eric also taught Nigel about competition and the art of losing gracefully through many rounds of NHL '95 on the Super Nintendo, as well as Wayne Gretzky's All-Star Table Hockey, gifted by their Grandparents. If all else fails, crash the net. As Nigel grew, he was often conflicted on what clothing he should wear. That's when Eric took it upon himself to become a personal stylist and trendsetter, handing down, nay, handing over, fashions that any younger sibling could love. Once something's cool, it's always cool* (*this however, does not go for cords). The trend continued with movies and music, as every older sibling loves sharing - by unknowingly lending out - their collection. As a young adult, Eric served briefly as Nigel's landlord, allowing Nigel the opportunity to rent out an office space as a bedroom. Their professional relationship lasted until Eric met a girl and served Nigel the eviction notice. Eric ended up marrying that girl, so Nigel got over it...for now. Eric now supports Nigel mostly through obscure comedy bits and Simpsons quotes. And in the end, isn't that real love? The answer is: No. We love Eric anyways and are honoured to have him serve as Best Man.

John and Meagan have been close friends since they were fourteen, and let's be honest, they've been more like siblings than just friends - complete with squabbles and inside jokes! John has been a rock in Meagan's life and he's even earned the coveted title of "favorite uncle" to her kids. They first crossed paths as angsty teenagers who have made enough questionable decisions together to fill a reality TV show. Parties, shows, basement hangs, skipping school to watch Friends on DVD, John proudly showing off his pro-wrestling figurines to a less enthusiastic Meagan (haha), and everything in between. Through all the wild escapades and "what were we thinking?" moments, they've remained fiercely loyal to each other, serving as each other's personal cheerleaders (or maybe just enablers) as they navigated the rollercoaster of adulthood. Nigel first came across Louis in junior high. Louis being the apparent "class clown" of Ecole Frere Antoine and Nigel as the self-appointed "class clown" of Ecole Grandin, bonded by fate and had a rivalry that lasted for as long as the Edmonton French Catholic School Division were mandated to hold them for. Their grades suffered in response, but that did not deter the boys from letting their friendship blossom at the expense of the sanity of a Social Studies teacher, or two. Louis shares Nigel's 'laissez-faire' way of life, which makes them kindred travel companions. This drives their 'Type-A personality' significant others up the wall, but deep down the boys know that their ladies just need to "relax", "chill", and "let it go". It's that simple, really. Through much comedic adversity, Louis has become a brother to Nigel (technically younger for those counting). Tell your homies you love them. Love you, Lou Guy.

Meet Jacinta, one-third of the "Basic Bitches" trio! She and Meagan (and Kellyn) became friends a decade ago while they were all surviving the chaos of E4C - they like to call it a "trauma bond," because nothing says friendship like bonding over workplace stress! Since then, Meagan and Jacinta have only become closer friends, fueled by a shared love for camping, hiking, and all things outdoors. Recently, Jacinta brought Meagan into a book club which has ignited an old passion for reading in Meagan and she is forever grateful. Let's also not forget their favorite pastime: eating out! Jacinta, a self-proclaimed foodie, is the girls go to - always ready with mouthwatering suggestions for the latest culinary hot spots. Together, they're on a mission to eat their way through the world, one delicious meal at a time! Meagan is thrilled to have Jacinta beside her on her big day. Love you!

Much like Eric, Kieran is stuck with Nigel through blood. Kieran is Nigel's cousin and every time they're together, they're inseparable. Always laughing and cracking jokes, the two are typically found bouncing one-liners and chirps off each other whilst sharing vodka water-based beverages. It's all about staying hydrated and watching the cals, obviously! While in Ontario the dynamic-duo hold court; entertaining their family, occasionally smoking a brisket properly, and gatekeeping the certification of Grand Bend visitors into their exclusive club. Kieran is somewhat athletic, in which he's claimed (allegedly) that his older cousin's "10,000 steps a day" 2025 pledge to have been the deciding factor and inspiration to finally clean-up his act and get his life together. Like many others, Kieran has bear witness to Meagan's competitive side (as well as her foul mouth) through many rounds of Brandi Dog. While Kieran may be intimidated, he's hounoured to stand alongside Nigel in support. Although he doesn't approve of the language, and despite her not being a GBC member, Kieran's at least given Nigel his approval of Meagan. For this post, Kieran has forced us to use his LinkedIn profile photo and personally address him as Dr. Kieran Dobson. We love you and we're so proud of you, Doc.

The other "Basic Bitch" to complete the trio; Kellyn is an avid traveler whom Meagan has lived vicariously through. Always jet setting to new places across the globe, with Europe being a particular favourite. Recently the trio booked a Japan trip together (finally made it out of the group chat, fam). Kellyn also met both Meagan and Jacinta at their old job 10 years ago and the three became instant friends. As the anxious pair of the group (seriously, if overthinking was a sport, these two could win an Olympic Gold medal) Kellyn and Meagan can both often be found trying new crafts and hobbies as outlets, and have both been known to proudly share a crochet project here and there that looks "almost right". Both have separately tried their hand at pottery as well, but while Kellyn flourished, Meagan did not (sensory overload). Kellyn's keen eye to detail and her love of decorating has been a huge help through this process and we can't thank her enough! Love you girly!

Claude Brochu (aka Claude Bro) is a jack-of-all trades and proud Ecole JH Picard alumni (Go Pumas!). He, along with Louis and Nigel, help create the power trio known as "the Basic Bitches" (we're still work-shopping the name). Claude was the first of the group with a license, allowing the boys to terrorize the streets of Mill Woods with their loud rock n' roll music, rattling the windows of the GMC Jimmy. There isn't a machine he can't operate (if somehow you couldn't already tell from looking at the profile photo), and with Louis' help, managed to buy a motor boat - an '89 Starcraft Medalist (an excellent vintage). Since Louis wasn't the strongest swimmer, Claude deemed Nigel the most suitable candidate for First Mate (he graciously accepted). Claude is the salt of the earth and a welcoming presence. He can have a conversation with anyone and will spin a yarn as if you were there with him, in which you'll have to remind him, that in fact, you were not. Love you Skipper!
