Our story first began in the fall of 2011.

Blake and Cameron had become friends, and they would often hangout around Cameron's parents' house. During one of Sara's college trips from Austin to visit her family in Houston, she came across a Silver Carolla parked outside her front door. Mistaking the car for another friend's car, she tapped on the window and was very surprised to see a handsome stranger sitting in the driver's seat. They chatted a bit, and then Blake left to go home. Sara would see Blake around a few times after that initial meeting, but it wasn't until a few weeks later, around the start of 2012, that Blake messaged Sara on Facebook Messenger and asked her out for lunch. Their first date took place at La Madeline, and the sparks were flying from that first moment. Three months later, Blake and Sara officially started dating.

This relationship lasted from 2012 to 2016. During that time, the couple went through college, long distance, career changes, vacations, and many struggles of a young couple trying to figure out how to build a life together. They had spent most of the relationship in Austin, with intermittent periods of being in Houston. However, after 4 years of dating, the couple decided to break up. At that point, Sara moved to New Mexico for medical school and Blake moved to Atlanta for a new job opportunity. However, even though distance and time, the two didn't stop thinking of each other.

Fast forward to 2021, Blake decides to text Sara and see how she's doing after not talking for 5 years. Sara and Blake end up talking on the phone for hours, but the timing wasn't right for them. The following year, Sara messaged Blake to see how he was doing, wondering if he was thinking about her the same way she was thinking about him. Again, the timing wasn't right for them. Then, in September of 2022, Blake messaged Sara one last time. This time, Blake decided to buy a plane ticket to New Orleans, where Sara was working at that time, and flew out to take her to dinner. The day was September 15, 2022, and prior to that, the couple had not seen each other since May 2016. Even with all the time between them, the sparks still flew when they saw each other.

After that, they slowly built a new relationship, one forged from the best parts of their previous relationship merged with the experienced parts of their new/older selves. This relationship was made to last, and on October 11, 2023, Blake proposed to Sara, who of course said yes.

Now, we invite you to our wedding day to celebrate the journey we have been through and a love evolved between two people who needed some time to realize they were meant for each other after all.
