Things to Do

HIKING

Picture of HIKING

With more than 200 trails covering over 400 miles in the Sedona area, it's easy to find a new path to wander. What's hard is deciding which path to take!

Fay Canyon

Difficulty: Moderate; Length: 2.3m; Est: 51m

Halfway through the Fay Canyon Trail, you can veer off to see the Fay Canyon Arch. Continuing on the Fay Canyon Trail will bring you to a short climb to see the breathtaking canyon!

Cathedral Rock

Difficulty: Hard; Length: 1.2m: Est: 1h10m

Devils Bridge

Difficulty: Moderate; Length: 3.9m; Est: 1h40m

This trail is extremely busy on Friday throughout the weekend. We recommend going on this hike early in the morning as the line to take pictures on the bridge can be long (up to 1 hour) and tends to be overcasted by the mountains later in the day.

Boynton Canyon

Difficult: Moderate; Length: 6.1m; Est: 2h36m

Soldier Pass

Difficulty: Moderate: Length: 4.5m; Est: 2h10m

VORTEX

What is a vortex and why do people seek these out?

A vortex is described to be the natural intersections of electromagnetic earth energy. Believers say that the forces can be felt physically and spiritually and are even the cause for Sedona’s twisting desert flora. These energy centers are located in known sites around Sedona.

Vortex vibes can be found in locations throughout the city:

Airport Mesa

This vortex is found via Airport Road on a trail leading to the top of the hill. It's also the location of our Welcome Dinner!

Cathedral Rock

Found on Lower Red Rock Loop Road; the strongest energy has been reported to be felt as you walk east along the creek.

Airport Mesa

This vortex is found via Airport Road on a trail

leading to the top of the hill.

Bell Rock

Easy to spot and next to the Village of Oak Creek. No climbing is necessary to access this spot which is said to be one of the strongest electromagnetic intersections.

Boynton Canyon

To reach this site, take Boynton Canyon Trail

and watch for signs to the Vista Canyon Trail.
